The Book Distribution/Sankirtana administrator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Srila Prabhupada’s books and other ISKCON literature. This role involves organising book storage, social media, communications, assisting volunteers, and assisting in the effective dissemination of spiritual literature to the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the order, receiving of books and placing them in the book store. Lot of heavy lifting will be required in this role of the books.
- Manage the bookstores (3 locations on site and 2 off site), including inventory control, stock management, and bookkeeping.
- Track book stock levels and reorder as necessary to maintain inventory.
- Manage books in various languages and ensure an organised, accessible store layout.
- Prepare and analyse sales and inventory reports to optimize stock management.
- Assist in organisation of book distribution events, including logistics, scheduling, and volunteer coordination.
- Assist in wedding and book distribution programs by liaising with wedding manager and the team.
- Assist in collecting all information and preparing Sankirtan newsletter for the community.
- Keep all records of books distributed and scores.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual sankirtan reports and presentations.
- Assist in taking minutes and follow ups on those minutes.
- Update the Sankirtan notice boards regularly with ongoing initiatives and campaigns.
- Assist the Sankirtan leader with communication of various events & marathons internally at the temple and within the community.
- Assisting in Training and support volunteers in their service of book distribution.
- Maintain records of book distribution activities, including sales, donations, and outreach efforts.
- Oversee the issuing of books and receiving of money and banking that to the treasury.
- Collaborate with the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) to ensure a steady supply of books and materials.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluation the effectiveness of book distribution programs and make necessary adjustments
- Represent ISKCON at book fairs, conferences, and other public events to promote book distribution.
- Foster relationships with donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders to support book distribution initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with ISKCON’s policies and guidelines related to book distribution.

Qualifications
- Strong commitment to ISKCON’s mission and principles.
- Proven experience in organizing and managing events, preferably in a religious or spiritual context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full clean UK driving license.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of ISKCON’s literature and teachings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in book distribution or sales.
- Background in marketing or public relations.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and social media for promotion.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
