To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Bhaktivedanta Manor opened a new garden in honour of the society’s spiritual leader and founder.
Devotees from across the UK, as well as many of Srila Prabhupada’s direct disciples from around the world, gathered on 16th July 2016 for the grand opening ceremony of the Srila Prabhupada Rose Garden. For all who were present, it was an opportunity to express their gratitude to Prabhupada for making the perilous journey to the West and thus transforming the lives of people for generations to come.
The defining qualities of the spiritual relationship between guru and disciple are engraved on stones around the garden – these qualities are enquiry, homage, service, shelter, and realisation.
