The Battle of Kuruksetra, is a legendary conflict described in the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata. It took place between two groups of cousins, the Pandavas and the Kauravas, who fought for the throne of Hastinapura. Join us for 3hrs of Katha and Kirtan to learn more on this epic battle.

Teacher Profile

Govind Krsna Das, popularly known as GKD, based in Kurukshetra, the land of Mahabharata, Haryana is a spiritual influencer, motivational speaker, spiritual educator, travel blogger and most importantly a well renowned singer.

GKD was born in Kurukshetra, Haryana in a Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Vaishnava household to Father HG Shakshi Gopal Das (Temple President of Iskcon Kurukshetra) and Mother HG Bhagwati Devi Dasi. He has been actively involved in devotional services since age 5. He received his primary education from ISKCON Gurukul Vrindavan after spending 8 years of intense studying of Vedic scriptures. Later on he completed B.Com followed by MBA from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA and he also holds a Bhakti Shastri and Bhakti Vaibhav from VIHE, Vrindavan. In 2013 after receiving the instructions from his spiritual master (HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj), he left his career and has taken the full time service of preaching and since then he has made a tremendous contribution to the mankind with his soulful Kirtans! He has two of his YouTube channels “Govind Krsna Das (560,000 subscribers) and “GKD is live” (950,000 subscribers) where he publishes spiritual songs and stories on a regular basis. His soulful voice has helped millions to connect to the holy names of the Lord and engage them in devotional services..
