“We are delighted to announce that Gurukula- The Hare Krishna Primary School has once again been graded as a ‘Good’ school following our recent Ofsted inspection,” explained Head Teacher Gunacuda dasi (Gwyneth Milan).

Highlights from the Ofsted Report

The inspectors noted several key strengths of the school, including:

• A Well-Rounded Curriculum: Pupils follow a curriculum that not only prepares them for life in modern Britain but also nurtures their spiritual and cultural heritage, including the study of Sanskrit.
• Balanced Academic and Spiritual Focus: The school effectively integrates academic learning with spiritual development, ensuring that both remain priorities for our pupils.
• Nurturing Early Years Foundation: Children in the early years settle in quickly, supported by a dedicated and caring team.
• Global Awareness: The school instils a broad and inclusive perspective, helping pupils develop a global outlook.
• Ambitious and Thoughtful Curriculum: Pupils engage with a well-structured curriculum that fosters critical thinking and deep understanding.
• Excellence in Learning: Older pupils demonstrate strong analytical skills, making meaningful connections between subjects.
• Support for Pupils with SEND: Tailored learning plans and appropriate support enable pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to thrive and meet their individual targets.
• A Culture of Reading: Reading is a notable strength at Gurukula, with pupils engaging daily with rich and diverse texts that enhance their vocabulary and comprehension.
• Social and Emotional Development: Through personal, health, social, and economic education lessons, worship, and circle time discussions, pupils develop a mature appreciation for diversity and difference, preparing them well for their teenage years.
• Commitment to Safety and Well-being: The school has robust risk assessments and safeguarding measures in place to ensure a safe environment. Staff are well-trained to identify and address concerns promptly, collaborating with relevant agencies when needed.
