Diwali and Downing Street
During a Diwali function at 10 Downing Street, Vinay Tanna presented the Prime Minister David Cameron with a copy of The Ramayan written by Ranchor Prime. Vinay, who is Head of Bhaktivedanta Manor Communications, explained the significance of Diwali and its connection with the story of the Ramayan. The Prime Minister had heard of the Ramayan and expressed that he was now very pleased to have a copy.
This was not the first time, however, that the Prime Minister had received a gift from the Manor. Last year, the temple president Srutidharma dasa presented him with a copy of Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita As It Is.
Vinay commented ‘it was wonderful: Number 10 decorated with colourful depictions of elephants, goddesses and adorned with fragrant flowers as the iconic residence hummed with the singing of “Jai Govinda Jai Gopala”.
Diwali in Parliament

Kelicancala dasi rounded off the evening by performing an Odissi-style dance for an appreciative audience. The annual event is organized by the Hindu Forum of Britain.
