Teacher Profile

A Krishna conscious scholar and maestro of many disciplines, Kartik Chandra Das’ breadth of understanding of the Vedic literatures is astounding. He has a very proficient understanding of Sanskrit, the original language of the Spiritual scriptures as well as a remarkable capacity to analyse and dissect concepts to a very precise degree. Combined, this puts him in a uniquely gifted position to approach and understand the ancient Spiritual scriptures and convey that understanding to modern society in a very practically applicable manner.

A Krishna conscious practitioner his whole life, he also understands and feels the devotional essence of the scriptures not just viewing them from an intellectual perspective. Being an Engineering Graduate with a First-Class Honours degree and having a Post-Graduate in Computer Science helped him to develop a scientific mindset with regards to scriptural scrutiny. But this never came at odds with his early years training in Krishna conscious philosophy and the Sanskrit language but instead propelled him to go back to his roots to discover answers to the many mysteries of life which remain elusive to modern science.

After diligently studying all of Srila Prabhupada’s books, he felt incredible joy and fulfilment and developed an insatiable taste for the practice of Bhakti and the message of the Vedic literatures, especially Srimad-Bhagavatam, which is his favourite literary work.  He has now been connected with the Bhaktivedanta Manor for over 18 years and generously gives his time to the community in various capacities, primarily focusing on mentoring, educating, and inspiring devotees to dive deeper and discover the finer principles hidden in the vast wealth of the Krishna conscious literature.
