For four days in August, the fourth annual Camp Unity Borehamwood was held at Well End Scout Activity Centre. This year saw the largest intake of campers with 48 children participating from various religious and cultural backgrounds.
The team hosted a panel of faith leaders who each shared a story and a song with the children from their respective traditions – among whom was Radha Mohan Das from Bhaktivedanta Manor who sang a devotional song on his acoustic guitar.
Among the other invited guests to Camp Unity 2023 were the The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Mrs M E Green Worshipful Mayor of Hertsmere Borough, Deputy Mayor of Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council, Borough and Town Councillors, as well as the Honourable Alderman Rabbi Alan Plancey.
The aim of Camp Unity is to boost the confidence of first-time campers and their parents, both in relation to living with nature and to celebrating the diversity of our town.
