Recently, a vibrant interfaith program took place at St. Alban’s Cathedral, bringing together individuals from various religious backgrounds to share their faiths to foster understanding, and work towards a stronger, more harmonious community. This event was a testament to the power of dialogue and mutual respect, where members of different traditions had the opportunity to showcase how their beliefs contribute to the betterment of society.
The Manor’s devotees, alongside the School of Bhakti, set up a stall dedicated to sharing the teachings of Krishna consciousness and the practice of Bhakti yoga. It was an opportunity to engage with the wider community and explain how a life centred around devotion to God can bring peace, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose.
“For Bhaktivedanta Manor, participating in such gatherings is essential,” explained Mahimarnava das. “It is not only an opportunity to share the wisdom and non-sectarian nature of Krishna Consciousness with others but also a way to build relationships across faiths…”
As a centre for spiritual learning and practice, Bhaktivedanta Manor has long recognized the importance of connecting with the wider public. In doing so, it can support and amplify the good work being performed by fellow faith communities and help create a more unified and understanding society.
In a world that often feels divided, events like the interfaith gathering at St. Alban’s Cathedral remind us that dialogue is key to fostering peace. These gatherings empower individuals to see beyond their differences, encouraging collaboration and mutual support.
The event was organised by Luton-based Grassroots.
