Throughout 2022, I’ve been heartened to see Bhaktivedanta Manor’s residents, volunteers and congregation spring back into action. The Manor’s Sunday programs have come to life, its many festivals are well attended, its prasada and book distribution is amazing, and its street Hari Namas and Patron dinners are all restored to their pre-covid glories. Plus we’re delighted that we have so many guests to welcome!
This year, 2023, marks the 50th anniversary of acquiring Bhaktivedanta Manor and of Srila Prabhupada’s installation of Sri Sri Radha Gokulananda. We’re planning events throughout the year in honour of this historic milestone: half a century of devotional service at Bhaktivedanta Manor. Please visit this website regularly for schedules of upcoming events.
Traditionally the new year is a time for resolutions. Yet, from the example that Srila Prabhupada’s gave us, we can understand that every day is a time to resolve to recommit to our spiritual practices, to strengthen our bonds with the Vaisnava devotees, to find shelter and solace in the holy names of Krishna, to delve into His teachings, and to do whatever we’re doing in His service. In other words, let’s not allow our spiritual resolve to be feeble and erratic, but to keep it central to our life, for this will give us real life. In the words of Srila Bhaktisiddanta Thakura, “Life without love is useless and poor, they say. Appoint me in Thy service, Oh Lord, with love as my pay.”
